A sustainable hotel

We are a modern family-owned hotel located in the center of Prague with an eco-friendly approach inspired by sustainability and responsibility towards nature.

We strive to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible, which we do by implementing a number of sustainable measures, such as eliminating single-use hotel accessories and plastics, disposing and sorting waste, reducing waste, prioritizing environmentally friendly cleaning products that are non-toxic and biodegradable, and reducing energy and water consumption. We use ecological methods for heating the building and energy-saving lighting. We place the same emphasis on the meaningful and efficient use of electricity.

We try not to waste unnecessarily in all segments of our profession. We take care of our footprint by buying products that are made in the Czech Republic to avoid excessive carbon emissions due to the unnecessary transportation of food from one part of the world to another. Our breakfast buffet consists mainly of regional foods and we emphasize our own homemade production and baking rather than semi-finished products.

Our bees, which we keep on the roof of the building and which are an integral part of the harmonious ecosystem of plants and animals, also take care of a better environment. In addition, thanks to the diversity of plants and trees without spraying and dangerous fertilizers, this honey is among the highest quality.

We are driven by a constant desire to improve and push our hotel further while being environmentally friendly.

An ecological oasis on the roof of our hotel

In the heart of Prague, hidden high above the busy streets, lies something completely unexpected — an organic bee farm right on the roof of our hotel. We are proud to be part of this unique project that supports sustainable development and brings nature closer to our guests.

Why do we keep bees in the middle of the city?

Did you know that an urban environment can be even more favorable for bees than the countryside? Prague’s parks, gardens and terraces offer a rich variety of flowers and plants without pesticides, which provides our bees with a diverse source of food all year round and guarantees that the bees are not burdened by sprays from the fields, which not only have a direct impact on their health but also on the quality of the honey. Our bees have access to flowers in all corners of the historic center, and their honey thus acquires a unique taste, which is a mixture of Prague’s parks and gardens.

Beekeeping for us is not only about obtaining honey, but also about protecting the environment. Bees are key to pollinating plants, thus contributing to biodiversity even in the urban environment. Every glass of honey you taste here is the result of the work of our hardworking bees and is proof that nature can flourish even in the middle of a big city.

Our hotel is committed to sustainability, which is why we use bee products directly in our kitchen. Guests can also taste our homemade honey at breakfast.

As a novelty this year, we have also prepared flavored honey with freeze-dried fruit, i.e. fruit that is dried at extremely low temperatures. Homemade honey flavored with dried fruit, such as strawberries, blueberries, cranberries and others, is the ideal choice for those looking for a 100% natural product with positive health effects and a sweet treat at the same time. Honey is known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, while fruit provides the body with fiber, vitamins and other natural nutrients that can help improve digestion and strengthen the immune system. Dried fruit then adds not only nutritional value to the honey, but also its taste. Each spoonful brings a new, fruity and refreshing experience. If you want to indulge in a delicious, healthy and natural treat, there is nothing better than honey enriched with this nutritious fruit.

We believe that even small steps, like urban beekeeping, can have a big impact. Come see for yourself — with us you will experience sustainable luxury that goes hand in hand with caring for our planet.
